Hoilett ready for Sam reunion

Hoilett: Joined QPR in the summer

Another summer spending spree by owner Tony Fernandes raised hopes that QPR would have a successful season following their narrow escape from the drop last term, but things have not gone to plan for the Londoners so far.

Mark Hughes' team have only picked up two points from their opening five games and go in to tonight's London derby at Loftus Road at the foot of the Premier League table.

Rangers looked like anything but relegation candidates in their unfortunate defeat to Tottenham last weekend, but Wednesday's loss to fellow strugglers Reading in the Capital One Cup once again exposed the defensive frailties which have prevented them from winning in the league this term.

Hoilett, who joined Rangers from Blackburn this summer, hopes a win over the Hammers this evening will help lift the pressure.

"When you don't get your first win every one is looking for it and talking about it," Hoilett said.

"We are playing well and not getting t he results but that is not what we need.

"We need to get the results now. Once we get the win we can start building the belief in the squad.

"It will bring a lot of pressure off us so that's why I'm looking forward to Monday's game."

Hoilett owes a lot to West Ham manager Sam Allardyce for advancing his career during his time at Ewood Park.

The Canadian, who scored his first QPR goal in the 3-2 loss to Reading, insists he will not think twice about snatching three points off his former mentor tonight, however.

"He taught me a lot in my career," Hoilett said.

"I enjoyed playing under him and he is a great manager, but I'm looking forward to getting the three points off him on Monday."
