Harry Redknapp predicts success for Loic Remy after QPR striker's debut goal

Harry Redknapp: QPR manager greets West Ham boss Sam Allardyce before kick-off

Remy put Rangers ahead 14 minutes into his first appearance, but a second-half Joe Cole goal rewarded West Ham's pressure and left their visitors two points adrift at the bottom.

"It was good to see him score in his first game," Redknapp said. "I thought at that stage of the game he and Adel Taarabt were going to do a bit of damage.

"Remy's got great movement off the ball and if you can get people to slide him in when he makes those runs, he will get in because he's got lightning pace and he will score some goals. He'll do okay.

"We haven't had any pace up front. If I can get Bobby Zamora fit, next week he could be around and ready to play, I think Zamora and Remy could be a real good partnership."

Redknapp also said it would be the end of February before Ryan Nelsen leaves to take up a new job as FC Toronto manager.

He said: "He's a great pro, a good centre-half. We're going to lose him unfortunately, start of March, end of February."
