Ben Haim recently joined QPR on a short-term deal until the end of the season following a successful trial with the club.
He is determined to stay up and intends to seize any opportunity given to him by boss Harry Redknapp.
"I am ready, that is what I came for, to play to help the team, and every chance that the manager gives me I have to take it," he told Sky Sports News.
Ben Haim could get a run in the side as Ryan Nelsen looks set to leave the club to become coach of Toronto FC, and the Israeli admits his departure would be a big blow.
"He is a leader, a very good player and everyone loved him at the club and hoped he would stay," said Ben Haim.
"Every game I went to watch I saw him give everything for the club, and we need players like him."
